The Kids
Here are photos taken mid-June of my kids! They seem kind of "long" here compared to real life, probably the lens.
Not the greatest pictures (they annoy me) but at least they are somewhat recent! Believe me, just since being on REAL FOOD for
a few months they look SO MUCH BETTER than THIS. :) But are getting their winter shag, so I guess no more spiffy pix until spring.

AKHENATEN
This is Archie, a 2001 gold champagne 3/4 Arabian colt. He was terribly malnourished as a weanling, but has really been growing like a weed since we got him! His sire is Svengali (AHR) and his dam was a half Arabian amber champagne tobiano. :) Will later be shown in halter classes, and will stand at stud. He's a real sweetheart!
We took Archie at liberty over 2' jumps and he is balanced, smooth, and straight! Will continue to work him over fences! :) |
SCENIC MINSTREL
2001 APHA stallion. Aden is a real pussycat. He is by the TB stallion Silver Minstrel (The Minstrel- Eng HOTY x Petite Grise- race wnr and dam of 2 SWs- by Grey Dawn-2yo CH Fr). His dam is Lady All Star, by Scenic All Star from a Mr. Hoss (race ROM sire) mare. We hope to race him and he is very athletic, so he should be good at a variety of performance events! Got him jumping about 2 feet in hand and will continue to work!

ELYSIUM
2001 APHA mare. Elys is a little diva. We hope to show her in halter later on (this picture makes her head look big though!) and she is built like a little tank. She won't be big but she is FAST. May run her in sprints and we'll see how cowy she is with her size! She is by Simons Jay from Miss Ellie Allstar by Scenic All Star. |
HONEYS SUMMER RAIN
2001 red dun APHA mare (breeding stock). By Silver Minstrel TB- the same sire as our baldy- and from So Daks Honey, going back to Tiny Watch, Summer should be great for speed events. We hope to run her in barrels. She took awhile to warm up to us (mom was antisocial so she was too) but she's really come around. Will be nice and tall (mom's not). Loves butt rubs :)

EMPRESS LUCILLA
2001 brown APHA mare (breeding stock). Her sire is Ima Scenic Husler, a gorgeous bk ov by Huslers Ole Man and from a dam with intense Leo/Sugar Bars breeding (plus Top Moon and Some Charge TB). Her dam is Princess Rita, going back to Rocket Robin and The Ole Man. Don't ask me where Lucy got her build! The TBs in her 4th gen and beyond must have gotten together to create her; she looks like a Hunter and just becomes moreso as she grows! Tall, lean, nothing like her tank of a mother... Goes over nearly 4' jumps at liberty, and in fact prefers the height to lower jumps. |
THE WINSUM KID
This is an olllld picture of Winsum when he was a gangly yearling! New pic coming soon!
2000 APHA gelding. Winsum aims to please, a very sweet and willing colt. He is by Simons Jay from Sophie Ryon's Baby, by Blue Max (ROM Arena). Sophie's dam is Lil Sophie Ryon (si 89), by Windy Ryon (Sup Race, leading BMS) from Lil Sophie (dam of 5 race ROM from 6 starters, by Ed Heller AAAT). Lil Sophie is also the 2nd dam of 2 horses each with a SI of 102. Winsum is 4x4 Flying Fawago (AAA) as well. We may race him a bit later on for kicks, but he has great conformation for halter, and has the natural gaits for english and western pleasure. He also showed us how he can jump fences with ease! Super boy and the perfect first horse for my husband. :)

Pokey
My first horse, a 1987 chestnut roan grade QH gelding. When I got him in '93 he was greenbroke but really he just liked to play games. Then when the rider got scared and got off, he'd win. I have put 2yo children on him; I can stand on his back, and I don't worry about him kicking, biting, or spooking. He has got the smoothest gaits and is so comfy to ride bareback. He's leading the good life right now with his ranch gelding buddies. |
Liberty
A 1993 QH/Arabian mare with no markings. Never registered but has her paperwork so we will register her with the IAHA.
